The Belarus Fund receive great support in the local area, and also further afield. We always like to show our appreciation for every bit of support that comes our way, whether this be through donations for specific projects, ongoing support for a family in need, time given to help our fundraising events, as well as all the volunteers that travel out to Belarus with us, and the ones who support the charity in the UK. We are immensely grateful to each and everyone of you and by producing regular newsletters, we hope that you feel informed and kept up to date with all the news in Belarus, and how your donations are showing people just how much you care. The dedication and commitment of donors is a great blessing and we could not do this work without you.

The Medal of The Order of The British Empire

This year, 2014, one of our founder members, Carol, was awarded The British Empire Medal.

Carol was awarded her medal by the Lord Lieutenant of The County at Manchester Town Hall in early April, at a special ceremony where twelve other people were honoured. She will also attend the Queen's official garden party in June as part of the celebrations! It's a very nice medal, very pretty too, even comes with a bow especially designed for ladies!

It's no surprise that Carol was awarded this honour; she was awarded the title of Rochdale Woman of the Year in 2013. Both of these accolades acknowledge her continuous devotion to many charities over the years, including this one, and the Queen obviously felt she had shown great meritorious civil service! Our Queen clearly has great skills in finding volunteers worthy of this fantastic award!

Well done Carol, we are all very proud of you!
